Dactylo collects nothing.
No account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising. Your writing never comes to us.

The app
- We collect no data. Dactylo has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no tracking. It does not send your writing, your settings or anything about you to us or to anyone else.
- Your writing stays in your storage. Folders and pages are plain files in your own iCloud Drive (iCloud Drive › Dactylo), or on the device if iCloud is off. They are synced by Apple’s iCloud under your Apple Account and Apple’s privacy policy; we cannot see them.
- Settings and “where you left off” are kept on the device and in your own iCloud key-value storage, so another of your devices can open the same page.
- Purchases are made through the App Store. Apple tells the app only whether Dactylo is unlocked; we receive no personal or payment information.
- Face ID / Touch ID is handled by the system. Dactylo only learns whether you were recognised.
- Exports and backups are files you save yourself, where you choose.
If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may share crash reports with us without identifying you. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
