Lock with Face ID or Touch ID

Keep your pages private on a shared Mac or iPad.

Turn on Settings › Sync and Safety › Lock with Face ID (or Touch ID). Dactylo then asks for it when it opens and when you come back to it; until then your writing stays hidden. If Face ID or Touch ID doesn't work, you can use the device passcode.

On the iPad, the picture of Dactylo in the app switcher is blank while the lock is on.

The lock needs a passcode on the device. Dactylo never sees your face, fingerprint or passcode: the system only tells it whether you were recognised.
