Importing text and Markdown

Bring writing from other apps into Dactylo as typed pages.

File › Import Text Files… (⇧⌘I) takes plain text (.txt) and Markdown (.md) files. Each file becomes a folder of pages inside the open folder, named after the file, with its text laid out on the machine's sheets at your line length.

Markdown headings, lists and paragraphs come in as plain text; the first heading, if there is one, names the folder.

You can also put text files into iCloud Drive › Dactylo with the Files app or the Finder: a file in a folder is added to that folder as a page under its own name.
